After talking to sources, One Take News is proud to exclusively announce that Xolo Maridueña of Cobra Kai will be playing the Jaime Reyes in the upcoming film Blue Beetle. To fuel the fire, according to this Instagram story, Xolo Maridueña is hinting at a WB and DC Comics project in this photograph with the director of Blue Beetle himself, Angel Manuel Soto. Xolo Maridueña has been advocating for the role for a few months and even posted an audition tape for the role. If you’ve seen him in Cobra Kai, you will know he’s perfect for the role.
Blue Beetle, directed by Angel Manuel Soto and starring Xolo Maridueña is slated start filming in September 2021 for a unspecified 2022-2023 release date.
