UPDATE: On December 17th, 2021, Spider-Man: No Way Home released and an M.I.T administrator who denied the trio admission appeared in the movie and was played by Paula Newsome. Our exclusive story has now been confirmed!

Spider-Man:No Way Home is 2 months away and we’ve been coming into possession of numerous new details for the film. We’ve learnt some big things but also some smaller things. Today, we’re going to be talking about one of those smaller ones. Specifically, who Paula Newsome is playing.

One Take News has exclusively learned who Paula Newsome will be playing in the film. What comes next does contain very, VERY minor spoilers from Spider-Man: No Way Home so now’s the chance to leave if you want to go into the film completely blind.

MINOR SPOILERS FOR SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME AHEAD.

Paula Newsome will be playing a M.I.T administrator. In the film, Peter, MJ and Ned apply to M.I.T were denied admission because of all the negative attention from Mysterio revealing Peter’s identity in Spider-Man: Far From Home. After the spell Doctor Strange attempted to make everyone forget about Peter’s secret identity failed, Peter decided to try to find Newsome’s character and change the minds of her and the other M.I.T staff. He finds her stuck in traffic on the way to the airport and that’s the shot that we see in the trailer.

This is likely to be somewhat of a bummer for fans as many speculated she’d be MJ’s mother or a paternal figure of sorts but I do like that her scene will show how much Mysterio affected their lives despite being dead. Newsome has done numerous shows and films that include Little Miss Sunshine, Grey’s Anatomy  and more. Newsome is currently starring on CSI: Vegas which is currently airing on CBS. Paula Newsome will show up in Spider-Man: No Way Home December 17th.
