Since 2020, we’ve gotten 2 LEGO Star Wars films on Disney+ and both have been well received by critics and fans alike. These short mini-movies featuring the Star Wars universe are great ways to tie us fans over until the next big show and since it’s in LEGO form, it’s even more fun to watch. Disney has yet to officially confirm a threequel LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special and LEGO Star Wars: Terrifying Tales. However, the animation team might’ve already done that for us.
We here at One Take News heard a while back Disney was interested in more of these LEGO Star Wars films and after doing some digging, we found 3 separate Linkedin reports that showed that Atomic Cartoons, the animation studios behind the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special and LEGO Star Wars: Terrifying Tales, is working on an “unannounced project” that began work back in 2021 and it’s very possible that this could be a new LEGO Star Wars film.
Why do we believe that this could a possible sequel in the LEGO Star Wars film franchise? Well, animation takes tons of time and if they wanted this film to release in 2022, having storyboarding begin last year makes sense. Pair that with the fact that the employees working on this “unannounced project” have all worked on the first 2 films and other LEGO films and you can start to connect the dots.
While we have no official confirmation from Disney on if this is indeed a new LEGO Star Wars project or not, it’s definitely within the realms of possibility. We’ll know for sure much later in the year if it is or not.
LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special and LEGO Star Wars: Terrifying Tales are currently streaming on Disney+. What do you make of this news? Let us know!
