Lightyear is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films of the year and everyone is eager to hear more news about the film leading up to it’s June 17 release date. Not to mention that it’s anyone’s guess when it comes to information about the film. Well, we at One Take News have been doing some digging and have learned about the film’s final runtime and we’re proud to be reporting it.
We can proudly report from trusted sources that the final runtime for Lightyear will be 104 minutes and 56 seconds, or 01:44:56 and yes, that includes credits. I do expect most theatre chains or listings to round this up to 105 minutes though so don’t get mad at me when it doesn’t say 104 minutes.
For comparison, Toy Story was 81 minutes, or 1 hour and 21 minutes. Toy Story 2 was 95 minutes, or 1 hour and 35 minutes. Toy Story 3 was 103 minutes, or 1 hour and 43 minutes. The latest Toy Story film, Toy Story 4, was 100 minutes, or 1 hour and 40 minutes.
With this, Lightyear is officially tied for being the second longest entry in the franchise. 3 trailers have released with the film and have all been received well. The first 30 minutes has also been screened for the press and has garnered very positive reactions. Pair that with the fact that Lightyear will be Pixar’s first theatrical release since 2020’s Onward and the stars seem to be aligning in Lightyear‘s favour.
