Chad Powers and the Catfish are back on our screens less than a year after Season 1 and personally, we could not be happier. Ahead of the release of Season 2 today, we at OTN were lucky enough to attend a press conference for Chad Powers Season 2. Here are the 3 biggest takeaways we got from the Chad Powers Season 2 press conference.

1.Can Chad’s good soul integrate into Russ?
Russ Holliday is not a good person, that much is known for sure, but Chad Powers is a fantastic human being. While Russ may think he and Chad are separate, actor and co-creator of Chad Powers Glen Powell thinks otherwise. Powell asks “can it actually change the man underneath the mask?”, referring to Holliday. Furthering that point, Powell talks about how having more people know Chad’s secret made the story go to different places, saying “He’s kind of gained this really weird family unit with Ricky and Danny. These two people that are inside the lie with him. They’re trying to get him to pull this off, but with that comes trust”. If this is any indicator, Chad’s good-natured soul will start to rub off on Russ this season sooner rather than later.

2. Coach Hudson’s evolving relationship with Chad

One of the hearts of this series is the relationship between Jake Hudson and Chad Powers. Its an interesting dynamic between your typical, straight cut football coach and an odd duck of a player. Speaking on their evolving relationship, Steve Zahn said “Chad is that missing link, and Jake will do anything to win”. To further on Powers’ behaviour in this season, Zahn also mentioned how Jake will put up with anything, saying “I think at first everything, he was bewildered by him. But as he gets used to him, it’s a little easier. He’s a little more calm”. Sounds like this relationship is going to take the next step in a larger leap than expected.

3. What the cast tells everyone to expect from Season 2

To wrap the conference up, we got some hilarious answers on what the cast and crew told us to expect in Season 2. Glen Powell said “Hijinks and drama”, Steve Zahn said the season is “intense and cringey”, Perry Mattfeld said the season has numerous “twists and turns”, and finally, the entire cast agreed on “A lot of really psychotic Gerry”, referring to Colton Ryan’s character taking a dark turn at the end of Season 1.
