UPDATE: On June 24th, 2022, Kevin Feige announced that Marvel Studios will indeed have a panel at SDCC 2022. We apologize for spreading any misinformation and will aim to be more accurate with our scoops in the future.

San Diego Comic-Con is a big event for any pop culture lovers. It’s where all the geeks go to get the first exclusive looks at upcoming projects. Usually, studios like Marvel or DC like to announce any upcoming projects here or even show the first footage. But, once again, it looks like we won’t be seeing a SDCC staple this year.

Multiple sources have informed OTN that Marvel Studios will not be holding a panel at San Diego Comic-Con this year and no new announcements are planned for the convention. Sources tell us that Disney is looking to focus on the D23 Expo 2022 as it’s the first one since the pandemic and that they want the heavy hitters like Marvel to be there.

Marvel Studios has a lot coming up on their slate. With shows like She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, Secret Invasion, and Daredevil or movies like Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels, it makes sense for Disney and Marvel Studios to promote these at an in-house event.

D23 Expo 2022 will run from September 9-11 and we can expect new announcements then. How do you feel about Marvel skipping SDCC? Let us know!
