UPDATE: OTN has been informed that as of this morning, Sherlock Holmes 3’s production start has been pushed back to an unknown date. The story below is all the info we were told prior to the delay.

You’ve probably heard the following sentence before: After numerous delays, Sherlock Holmes 3 could finally get off the ground. However, it looks like the stars could finally align for this troubled production.

Multiple sources have informed OTN that Sherlock Holmes 3 is planning to start filming at the end of the year in Atlanta, Georgia. Of course, it’s worth taking this info with a grain of salt since this film’s production date has been delayed multiple time over the past few years. However, if the stars could finally align for this one, Sherlock Holmes 3 could very well be coming out sometime in late 2023 or 2024.

Sherlock Holmes 3 has been a long time coming. After the success of 2009’s Sherlock Holmes and 2011’s Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, the film has undergone numerous production delays and in 2019, Guy Ritchie stepped down as director and was replaced by Rocketman director Dexter Fletcher. On top of that, franchise star Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan Downey are also developing two shows set in the Sherlock Holmes universe for HBO Max. Despite all that, Sherlock Holmes 3 is still in the works. Hopefully, this production date sticks and we get to see the film FINALLY move forward.

Sherlock Holmes 3 stars Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. The film has no release date. Are you excited to see the film go into production soon? Let us know!
