Wait, BSL talking about Ms. Marvel again? I’m shocked!
Yep, I’m back to gush about Ms. Marvel because I still think it’s the best MCU show and one of the best things Marvel has just put out in general. It hit all the right notes for me and I absolutely enjoyed every single second of it. The show has loads of potential for a second season and Kevin Feige himself has said the show could easily get a second season. So, in the event the show does get a second season, here’s what I want to see from it.
5. More of the same
This might be a weird thing to ask for but to me, Ms. Marvel was a nearly perfect show and that was in part due to the execution of it along with the look and feel of the show. I’d love to see more of the same in a second season to remind us of why this show is so special. I’d especially love to see more of the artistic look (i.e moving graffiti on walls or text messages made in the stars) and maybe see them get more creative. Story wise, I want a similar execution. I want the show to be more grounded and in Jersey City but an outing or two wouldn’t hurt either.

4. Follow up on Kamran’s escape
Something that S2 needs to follow up on is what happened to Kamran. At the end of S1, he went to Karachi and met up with Kareem AKA Red Dagger. There’s clearly still lots to tell about his story now that he has superpowers and leaving that untouched would be a big mistake. Hopefully Rish Shah feels the same and is open to coming back as Kamran in the future.

3. LOCKJAW!
Just like Iman Vellani, I was hoping for a Lockjaw tease or cameo in Ms. Marvel. The fan-favourite character has been an ally to Kamala Khan for nearly as long as she has existed and their first adventure together is one of the more memorable Ms. Marvel runs. Hopefully, the cosmic setup of The Marvels can allow for Lockjaw to appear in some capacity in a potential Season 2.

2. Bigger, badder villains
If I had one slight criticism for Ms. Marvel, it would be that the Clandestines were not the greatest villains. While I understand their importance to the story, they could’ve been used much better. Thankfully, I was able to overlook this due to my large love for the rest of the show. However, I think in Season 2, I would love to see the emergence of some anti-mutant people to go after her or even someone from the comics, like the Inventor. Overall, this is the one thing that they need to top for S2 but other than that, there’s one more thing that I would love to see in S2.

1. “your genes are different, like a mutation”
My jaw was on the floor when I heard this line. The finale already stuck the landing but learning that Kamala Khan would be the first mutant in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was something nobody saw coming at all. Of course, this opens the door for the mutants to make their long awaited MCU debut and explore this part of the MCU that has gone untouched for almost 2 decades. I’d love to see if and how her mutation changes and if she has any untapped abilities that we didn’t see in S1. This is easily the biggest question that we were left with once Ms. Marvel ended and I think that there’s lots of potential here for more storytelling.

So, here’s the top 5 things I’d love to see in a potential second season for Ms. Marvel. Overall, I just want to see more of this character and her future in the MCU post-The Marvels. While I am sure Vellani will continue to play Khan in the MCU for many years, I still hope she gets dedicated solo Ms. Marvel projects rather than just being in team-up movies as a supporting character.
