To say James Cameron’s plans for the Avatar universe are ambitious is an understatement. From 2017 to 2020, he shot Avatar: The Way of Water, Avatar 3 and a third of Avatar 4 all at the same time. He also did this knowing that Avatar 4 might not even come out but to be honest, that seems to be very unlikely. After seeing Avatar: The Way of Water, we’re very excited to see more of Pandora, and especially more from the new cast. We spoke to Jack Champion, Trinity Jo-Li Bliss and Jamie Flatters at the Avatar: The Way of Water Canadian premiere who they wanted to see join the Avatar franchise and here’s what they had to say:
Jack Champion
Jack Champion: That’s such a good question. I think there’s so many actors out there like Brad Pitt, Christian Bale and Henry Cavill.
BSL: Funnily enough, I just saw a rumor online about [Cavill] joining the franchise.
Jack Champion: Oh, dude that would be sick. Christian Bale would be great too. He just played Gorr though so I don’t know if he wants to do another alien role anytime soon.

Trinity Jo-Li Bliss
Trinity Jo-Li Bliss: Oh, that’s a great question. I don’t know, I love Jennifer Lawrence, that would be cool if she joined.
BSL: I agree I’d love to see that.
Trinity Jo-Li Bliss: I don’t know if she’d be Na’vi or Human, I think she’d be good at both.
BSL: Well we’ve seen her play a blue person in the X-Men franchise so we know she’ll do a good job as a Na’vi!
Trinity Jo-Li Bliss: That’s true! Maybe a human?
BSL: Maybe both?
Trinity Jo-Li Bliss: Maybe both, who knows? Maybe an Avatar!
BSL: That would be awesome to see!

Jamie Flatters
Jamie Flatters: That’s a fun question. I’d like to see one of these old men who played more villains in recent years. I’d like to see that come into the landscape.
BSL: Anyone specific?
Jamie Flatters: (laughs) Right, you’re looking for specificity. Well Joaquin Phoenix would be interesting because I can’t imagine him in a motion capture suit so it would be interesting to see him prove me wrong.
BSL: Love that choice! I could see him going full method acting for that.
Jamie Flatters: Give him my wishes because he’s going to have to go method for three whole years!

Avatar: The Way of Water is currently playing in theatres. Stay tuned for the rest of the interviews with the cast!
