I absolutely ate up Boy Kills World, a movie about a deaf-mute warrior who unleashes unbelievable violence and mayhem in a dystopian setting. It’s a bloodbath and gore extravaganza that’s destined to become a cult classic and be a fan favourite midnight movie. Anchored by a captivating performance from Bill Skarsgård’s boy, as well as a witty script, Boy Kills World is a movie that needs to be seen to be believed.

The cast for this film is absolutely perfect. Bill Skarsgård does what he does best and mostly relies on facial expressions to get his performance through. Jessica Rothe, Sharlto Copley, and Yayan Ruhian are particular standouts among a pitch-perfect ensemble cast. Everyone can flip a switch and go from serious to comedic in an instant and help to sell this insane movie and lift it up to new heights.

The production of Boy Kills World is very efficient. It looks significantly better than most blockbusters today and feels like a major studio movie at times.  It’s impressive how they managed to stretch their budget so far. The movie also takes notes from Sam Raimi, who is a producer on this film, through the cinematography and horror aspects of the film. The costumes and sets look great, and the crew is to be commended for making the most of their budget and locations.

Boy Kills World has some of the most exciting action sequences I’ve seen in a while. While the shaky camera movement might not fully show it sometimes, we see enough to get excited and be thrilled. The opening training montage, the cheese grater scene, and the final fight scenes are excellent and will have people talking.

Boy Kills World is a strong contender for being the action movie of the year. It will not appeal to everyone, and that’s totally okay. However, if you do fall into the target audience for this one, you’ll absolutely adore this movie.
