The rumors are true! After first appearing on the DCEULeaks Reddit rumor thread and fresh off of heaps of early praise for The Flash, Andy Muschietti has been tapped to direct The Brave and the Bold for DC Studios, One Take News has confirmed with multiple sources.

Warner Bros. did not respond to OTN‘s multiple requests for comment.

This news shouldn’t come as a surprise. Muschietti’s future with DC has long been teased and James Gunn himself has said he wanted Muschietti for another project. When Muschietti was promoting The Flash in Toronto, he was asked by Narcity what he would do if he had his own Batman film to which he responded, “I don’t think I can talk to that yet”.

Muschietti has become one of the most popular directors in recent years. He’s directed both It films and is knee deep into shooting the Max prequel series Welcome to Derry. If the praise for The Flash is anything to go off of, then he’s going to do a great job with this film.

The Brave and the Bold is the third DCU film to have a director attached, with James Gunn himself directing Superman: Legacy and James Mangold directing Swamp Thing. The film will follow Batman as he learns to live with his biological son, Damian Wayne.

The Brave and the Bold has no writer, cast or release date. Are you excited to see Andy Muschietti return to DC? Let us know!
